There are two characters in this movie - Margaret the Prime Minister and Margaret the old woman fighting off dementia. It's the latter woman we empathize with, and the Prime Minister whom we watch with historical curiosity.

Streep gets a B- and the movie a D. The story is told in choppy bits jumping from different points in Thacther's life constantly. You get to a segment that is interesting and then off to 20 years prior or later. Too much, ruined the film.

I think Meryl Streep is an excellent actress and she won the Oscar because of it! She is marvellous!!! I didn't like the film because the history of the 80's wasn'tenlightened enough for people that don't know too much about that time!

C: I don't think this movie showed enough gusto to justify Margaret T's nickname "Iron Lady". I found it uneventful and cannot believe this is how I would have felt having been in her presence.
