The age of style & swagger, golden Los Angeles is depicted as the mob ridden, viscous, rich city it once was. Gangster Squad is something new & different, something substantial that you find refreshing in an age of all violence & sex.

Very entertaining. Great costumes, period sets, music, cars etc. Way over the top to be believed so keep that in mind and you will have fun watching it. When the film attempts to take itself seriously is when it falls short.
