This tale omitted slow-mo faces getting bashed from the 1st one and opted for more entries into the mind of Holmes as he summed up his situations as if time stood still. His ability to see everything, he admits, is his curse. But it saves his life and almost all of those he cares for. There is a welcome addition of a Gypsy woman who can fight as well as Holmes or Watson as they make their way across Europe to save the world from the evil political schemes of the great criminal Professor Moriarity. If you've read any Sherlock Holmes mysteries there are a few scenes that seem familiar. In addition to some impressive gun fights, fist fights, and near death experiences by explosion, I enjoyed the concluding chess game with Moriarity and Holmes. There was more to hold this together than the very tight friendship between the two main characters. The plot, the counter spies and politics worked well together even if they were a bit confusing at times. Go see it with the sense that this one perfects the flaws of the first and makes the best of what was done right.

It was one of those rare times when I came out of the theater and said " Wow, that deserves to be called a sequel to the original." Also I am in very good mind to pay money to see it again. Fantastic.

I was expecting better based on the reviews I had read. I found it to be a run of the mill action flick with some interesting cgi effects.

This is a fabulous sequel, funny and action packed. The dialogue is great and I would happily see it again. The villain was perfect and the ending oh that was ingenius! Can't wait for number 3
