The Debt is a refreshing indie about a business deal abroad in Peru, regarding leftover debt the country owes to its landowners. Aside from the 3 exciting storylines that later diverge, the cast is excellent and a real treat to watch. 10/10

I highly recommend this thought provoking financial thriller. Set in the Peruvian countryside and bustling NYC this film boasts some impressive performances from a great cast. In my opinion, it might be the best indie of the year.

The Debt should be on every indie film fan’s watchlist. This financial drama is an emotional, yet exciting film that sheds light on the aftermath of 1960s Peruvian political and financial decisions. It's one of my favorites of the summer!

A film set in both NYC and Peru that exposes how doing whatever it takes to close the deal can snowball for the worst. The up and coming director Barney Elliott attached a veteran cast, a stellar script, and does not fail to deliver.

One of the most thought-provoking movies of the summer, the Debt is a multi-narrative thriller in which writer and Director Barney Elliott moves us from New York financial districts to the Peruvian farming community. A talent to follow.
