I was one of the lucky ones that had the opportunity to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II in a sneak-peak premiere last night. I have to say that it was one of the best Harry Potter movies released and together with Part I makes a perfect film. Full of action, everyone knows Harry has been trying to find a way to stop he-who-must-not-be-named or Lord Voldemort, from taking over the world. In a fitting end to the series, most of the last film takes place in the place where all the magic adventures began: Hogwarts. Hogwarts isn’t the same though. Many of the people we have come to know at the school are gone, but the history there is what makes the journey truly epic. Epic is the word that came to my head throughout the entire film. Will Harry Potter survive? Will Voldemort kill everyone? Who is going to die? As someone who did not read the last book in the series, I can safely say I knew very little of those answers and there was always the possibility they could change the ending of the film for dramatic effect. I won’t comment on what happens in an effort to keep you from being spoiled. The film did a good job of tying up the loose ends left in the film series and although some scenes require your complete attention to be understood, even a non-book reader can understand all the things that have led up to this conclusion. I read Harry Potter up until the fifth book in the series and can say the movies did a good job of keeping me in the loop. The special effects were fantastic as usual. They used many different types of animation sequences and made an entertaining show. I didn’t find the movie utilized 3D scenes often enough to warrant spending money on the 3D experience. It became somewhat of an eyesore in scenes where the depth of the scene distorted what you were looking at. The only cool thing about the 3D was the glasses, which were shaped like those of Harry Potter. Overall, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II was a great film and I would recommend that any fan or movie-goer watch it (assuming you have at least seen Part I). The acting, writing, and special effects were all superb and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part II is my favorite movie released this summer so far.

If J.K. Rowling were more picky about how the movies were made, she were to give this a C or B. If a movie director had never heard or seen of Harry Potter, he were to give it a B. But a fan of the movies/books would definitely give it an A

What a splendid film to cap off the series! This was moving, beautifully realized, stunningly acted, and mostly true to the book. It's wonderful to see how all of the cast members have matured and no corners were cut in this film.

Recommendations: a 5-film prequel, expounding on all the tales we've heard and had snippets of so far. Then: Harry Potter's career as a BBC commentator. Hogwarts Today! JK Rowling created an addiction and now we beg for her to continue…

I thought they did a fantastic job with the movie. Even if I didn't already like the franchise I would have like this movie. Special effects were some of the best ever done, great acting and script. I'm sad it's over, but great job!

Amazing does not do justice to just how epic the movie was. The best Potter film so far and the fans couldn't have hoped for a better goodbye to this beloved series.

Great. Except for Harry and Ginny getting together, but that was in the book, so they had to stay with it. Go Neville.

It was a great movie. A great ending to the franchise. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that some things in the books were cut from the film.
