Draft Day (2014)

Review Roundup:

Costner "carries" Draft Day "comfortably." Unfortunately, "Majestic" aerial stadium shots and "real-life gridiron" cameos don’t save the "formulaic" and "talky" script. The draft itself is "climactic" and the finale is a "crowd-pleaser" and not just for sports fans.

Best movie I've seen in a long time. Kevin Costner was stellar. Jennifer Garner added a gentle presence. The excitement built from scene one and ended with a surprise. Excellent. Excellent movie.

An excellent, entertaining movie. Similar to 2011's Moneyball. Similar but new, in its own way and with excellent performances that capture the audience's interest. The lack of certain predictability maintains a degree of suspense.

Kevin Costner was as intense and as Costner-like as ever. This was the Kevin we all loved in Field of Dreams. I love NFL football but I have never paid much attention to the draft TV extravaganzas. This movie drew me into its suspense.
