Chances: The Women of Magdalene
Director: Tom Neff, Thomas L. Neff
A documentary focusing on prostitutes in Nashville, Tenn., who find themselves within the doors of Magdalene House, a rehabilitation facility run by Rev. Becca Stevens. A victim of sexual abuse herself, Stevens candidly addresses the situations of the women who she works with, and she doesn’t shy away from the issues that they face, including drug addiction. Presenting bleak and disturbing stories of street life, the film gives a voice to women intent on finding a second chance.
